Yes, you read that right. One of BBC’s most exciting new programs features the talented Mark Williams playing the titular character (you may recognize him from his role as Arthur Weasley in the “Harry Potter” series).

Downton Abbey Recap: Did He or Didn't He?

By Misty Harris

Spoiler alert! If you have not seen the entire season or season finale do not read!

It's that time of the year us Downton lovers hate. The season finale. I'm bummed. It went so fast! I'm ready for the new season (Has production started yet? Hurry up already!).

If there's anything that stood out the most was the storyline between Mr. Bates and Anna. The season hit us with a ton of bricks when Anna endured the horrible attack. The aftermath lasted all season and we were left with the burning question of did Bates retaliate or was it indeed an accident that killed Mr. Green? I think it's safe to say we are all "Team Bates" and this issue has been discarded of hopefully not to return in the next season.

Musical Movie Ride

By Misty Harris

I know I've said this before but Charlie Chaplin's City Lights is my absolute favorite silent film.
If you have not seen it yet, I'm sure it's available at the library or for purchase online. Absolutely no words were needed to express the emotional roller coaster that took place throughout the movie. Seeing it a few years ago while listening to the score performed by the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra live was fabulous.

Experience the Amish

amish for blog
This February, WNED-TV will be airing two Amish-themed programs, beginning Monday, Feb. 3 at 8 p.m. with "Amish: American Experience" and "The Amish Shunned: American Experience." The Amish are everywhere in modern pop culture, there are reality shows, news stories, parodies in comedy, and even a professional wrestling gimmick. Just what is it about this group of people that we find so fascinating? Is it the fact that they live without the technology that you are using to read this? Perhaps it is the beards? Are we just fascinated with their general methods from the way they talk to the way they dress? To get you ready for your dose of Amish appreciation, here are some facts about the Amish.
