Factoid Friday: Fact #4

By Annmarie Dean

It’s Friday! While Friday signifies the beginning of the weekend, it also means that it is time for your weekly dose of fun facts pertaining to WNED.

PBSDid you know that WNED has produced 17 productions for national broadcast on PBS? This past month, “Underground Railroad: The William Still Story” premiered on PBS. Other national productions include: “The War of 1812,” “Chautauqua: An American Narrative,” and “Frank Lloyd Wright’s Buffalo.” Our productions department continues to work tirelessly to bring new and interesting documentaries to the national spotlight.

We are also very lucky to have had our news stories from WNED-AM 970NPR featured numerous times on NPR for the whole country to hear. For many years, Classical 94.5/WNED-FM would broadcast a 13-part classical music series PRIentitled “Music from Chautauqua.” The series was distributed nationally through Public Radio International and showcased orchestral performances from the Chautauqua Institution.
