O Tuscany, Tuscany! Wherefore art thou Tuscany?

By: Annmarie Dean

WNED and AAA of Western and Central New York cordially invite you to “A Taste of Tuscany” on Tuesday, July 19 at 6 p.m. Come enjoy a food and wine sampling and participate in a live taping in the WNED Studios while Tuscan native, Romeo Innocenti, prepares traditional dishes of the region.
Um…YUM! So you’re telling me that for only $20, I can enjoy wine, two antipasti AND pasta?! Well, I sure do love wine and I sure do love eating; count me in! The menu includes Crostini in Salsa Verde, Brushetta al Pomodoro and Penne Maria Rosa.

Not only will you have the opportunity to indulge yourself, but you will be able to watch Romeo (I wonder if he’s got a Juliet?) prepare two dishes in our beautiful Artisan Kitchen and Baths kitchen. Hear about life in the La Maremma region, the way Italians eat, the order to serve dishes, and food and wine pairings. Romeo will open the floor for a brief question and answer session before he beings his cooking demonstration.

You’ll have the chance to learn about Romeo’s passion for wine and food, which has been nurtured by the rural culture of Tuscany and the Tuscan lifestyle. He will speak about his family and share wonderful stories and anecdotes about his home country.

“A Taste of Tuscany”

You can also learn about an exclusive AAA Tuscany Adventure vacation package to join Romeo at his breathtaking villa. This trip of a lifetime includes a tour of the Tuscany and Rome regions of Italy with Romeo and his family, as well as lots of sightseeing. Who knows, maybe you’ll buy a Tuscan villa on a whim and fall madly in love with an Italian a la Diane Lane in Under the Tuscan Sun. Anyway, I digress.

Obtaining tickets for the live event is easy, just call 1-800-678-1873. You really don’t want to miss out on this fun and delicious experience. C’mon now, food and wine. 20 bucks. Do it.
